Biography

Mattia Demetz started playing the Styrian harmonica on October 1st, 2001. He graduated from secondary school in the music class. He has also been playing the piano and tuba since 2010. Mattia is a Rotary Club prizewinner 2011. In 2015 he completed the BACHELOR degree, in 2017 the MASTER degree in Didactics - Teaching Qualification Class A077 Styrian Harmonica and in 2018 the University Vocational Training Courses (UBK) with teaching qualification.

Mattia has been teaching Styrian harmonica at the Institute for Music Education in German and Ladin since 2015; currently at the Val Badia Music School and the Unterland Music School. For 10 years he was a musician with the Val Gardena - Ortisei folk dance group (2008-2018). Since May 31st, 2013 he is Junior Harmonica World Champion and since March 22nd, 2015 he is Vice World Champion in the “Masterclass”.
